Lesotho Association of Engineers was first registered in 1982 and after a period of reduced activity from 1993 to 2014, the Association was re-launched on the 28th of August 2014.
The objectives and purpose of the Association
The current constitution states the objective as:
- To foster and promote the art and science of Engineering and its application in Lesotho and to facilitate the exchange of information and otherwise and for that purpose:
- To do all things which the Executive of the Association may think proper, including advising Government, Public bodies and other organizations or individuals on matter concerning Engineering.
- To co-operate with educational institutions and public educational authorities for the furtherance of education and training in Engineering Science and Practice.
- To do all other things incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives
Expected Conduct of Members
Any member of any class is required to order his conduct as to uphold the reputation of the Association. All Engineering Members of different classes are required to order their conduct as to uphold the dignity of the profession and to act, in whatever capacity they may be engaged, in strictly fiduciary manner towards their clients and employers and towards others with whom their work is connected and towards other members, in a manner consistent with best interests of the Association. Any alleged breach of the above which may be brought before the Executive properly vouched for and supported by sufficient evidence, shall be dealt with by the Association under the procedure that may be determined by the Executive as far as it applies, or in such manner as the Executive may see fit.
